Most car brands do not have one bolt pattern. Among the 67 makes with at least 20 vehicle variants in our fitment database, only 10 use a single pattern on 90% or more of their models. The chart below lists the most common bolt pattern for each make, its share of that make’s variants, and the other patterns the brand has used. It is counted from the open ANKUSI Wheel Fitment Dataset (version 2026.10.04).

Key findings

  • 60 of 150 makes (40.0%) use one bolt pattern for every model in the dataset. Most of them are small or single-platform brands.
  • Of the 67 makes with at least 20 variants, 10 have 90% or more of their variants on one pattern: Exeed (100.0%), McLaren (100.0%), Omoda (100.0%), Zeekr (100.0%), HSV (96.9%), Volvo (96.8%), Mercedes-Benz (95.9%), Jetour (93.9%), Chery (93.8%), Jaguar (91.4%).
  • The brands with the least concentrated line-ups are Chevrolet (23.1%), Cadillac (23.3%), Opel (26.7%), Toyota (32.9%), Chrysler (36.7%). For these makes the most common pattern covers only that share of variants, so the model and year always have to be checked.
  • The 67 makes in the chart account for 8,816 of 9,417 variants (93.6%).

How to use this chart

The chart shows what is typical for a brand, not what fits a particular car. A make’s most common pattern can still be wrong for a specific model, generation or trim, and the center bore also has to match. Look up the exact model and year in the fitment guide, and see the wheel interchange chart for the makes that share each bolt pattern and center bore.

Methodology and limitations

  • The figures are counted from version 2026.10.04 of the ANKUSI Wheel Fitment Dataset. One variant is one model in one model year with its factory bolt pattern.
  • Tuners and coachbuilders were excluded because they reuse the donor car’s hub, and Nismo was counted as Nissan, leaving 9,417 variants and 150 makes.
  • The chart lists makes with at least 20 variants, so that a share is not based on a handful of records.
  • Shares describe model variants, not vehicles sold. Coverage differs between makes and is heavier for recent model years, so a pattern used on many trims or many model years weighs more.
