Jeep Bolt Pattern by Model: 5x127, 5x114.3, 5x110 & 6x139.7 for Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Gladiator, Compass and Wagoneer (1987–2026)

The Jeep bolt pattern depends on the generation, not just the model name: every Wrangler, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee and Commander built since 2007 uses 5x127 (5x5") with a 71.5 mm centre bore; the Wrangler YJ/TJ, Cherokee XJ, Liberty, first-generation Grand Cherokee ZJ, Compass MK and Patriot use 5x114.3 (5x4.5"); the Renegade, Cherokee KL and Compass MP use 5x110 with a 65.1 mm bore; and the 2022-on Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer moved to a truck pattern, 6x139.7 with a 77.8 mm bore. The table below lists all of them by chassis code and year, with the centre bore you need to order a hub-centric wheel.
Every figure here was taken from our Jeep fitment guides and cross-checked against a second independent reference before publication; where the two disagreed the row says so. For the full per-year pages see the Jeep fitment hub, and for how to turn a bolt pattern into a safe order read the forged wheel fitment verification checklist.

Two things in the table catch people out. The Wrangler changed pattern between TJ and JK in 2007, so a set of TJ wheels does not bolt to a JK even though both are "Wranglers". And the Compass and Patriot MK share a 5x114.3 pattern with the Cherokee XJ and Liberty but have a smaller 67.1 mm bore, so a wheel bored for the XJ's 71.5 mm hub needs a centring ring on an MK.

5x127: Wrangler JK and JL, Gladiator, Grand Cherokee WJ to WL
5x127, written as 5x5" in US catalogues, is the Jeep pattern most people mean when they ask. It covers every Jeep Wrangler from the 2007 JK onward, the Gladiator JT, the Commander XK and every Grand Cherokee from the 1999 WJ through the current WL Grand Cherokee. All of them share the 71.5 mm centre bore, which is why a set of JL take-off wheels bolts straight onto a WK2 Grand Cherokee or a Gladiator and sits hub-centric.
What differs between them is width and offset. Our guides list the Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT on 17x7.5J and 18x7.5J factory wheels, while the 2022 Grand Cherokee WL leaves the factory on 20x8.5J. Swapping between the two families is a bolt-pattern match but not always a fitment match: a wide, low-offset Wrangler off-road wheel pushes the tire out past a Grand Cherokee's arch. Our 5x127 bolt pattern page lists every vehicle on the pattern, Jeep and otherwise, with the centre bore for each.
For a Wrangler or Gladiator that actually leaves the tarmac, this is also the pattern our off-road beadlock wheels are most often machined to. A bronze hex-window beadlock forged wheel in 17x9 with a negative offset is the classic 35" tire setup on a JL; the gloss black mesh beadlock with a blue bolted ring is the same geometry in a street-oriented finish.

5x114.3: Wrangler YJ/TJ, Cherokee XJ, Liberty, Grand Cherokee ZJ, Compass and Patriot MK
Before 2007 Jeep used 5x114.3 (5x4.5") across the smaller platforms. The YJ and TJ Wrangler, the XJ Cherokee and the KJ/KK Liberty all share it with a 71.5 mm bore, so wheels interchange freely across those four, and that is why the 2005 Wrangler TJ is one of the easiest Jeeps to find used wheels for.
The ZJ Grand Cherokee (1993–1998) is also 5x114.3 / 71.5 mm, but its successor the WJ went to 5x127 in 1999. The first-generation Compass and the Patriot use the pattern too, but on a car platform with a 67.1 mm hub, so XJ or TJ wheels fit the bolt circle but need a 71.5-to-67.1 centring ring to sit true.
5x110: Renegade, Cherokee KL, Compass MP
The three smallest current Jeeps sit on platforms shared with Fiat and Alfa Romeo, and they took the 5x110 pattern and 65.1 mm bore with them. The Renegade BU (2015–2023), the Cherokee KL (2014–2023) and the Compass MP (2017 onward, including the 4xe) all interchange with each other and with the Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio. Nothing from the older 5x114.3 Compass MK carries over to the MP, so check the generation before buying "Compass wheels" second-hand. The 5x110 bolt pattern page lists the rest of the pattern's vehicles.

6x139.7: Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer WS
The 2022 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer are built on the Ram 1500 body-on-frame platform, and they use the Ram's 6x139.7 (6x5.5") pattern with a 77.8 mm bore rather than anything from the Jeep SUV range. That puts the Wagoneer WS in the same wheel family as the Ram 1500, Silverado 1500 and Sierra 1500; see the 6x139.7 bolt pattern page. The electric Wagoneer S is unrelated: it is a 5x127 / 71.5 mm vehicle like the Grand Cherokee.
Lug nuts, hub bore and the two mistakes we see most
Jeep's 5x127 and 5x114.3 hubs carry studs and conical-seat nuts; the 5x110 cars use lug bolts instead of studs. Aftermarket wheels with a different seat (ball seat, or a narrow tuner acorn) need their own hardware, and that is the first mistake: reusing factory lug nuts on a wheel whose seat does not match. Check the thread, seat and torque figure in the owner's manual or in the Tire Rack lug nut and wheel bolt torque reference, before the first torque. The second is ignoring the bore. A 5x127 wheel bored to 71.5 mm is hub-centric on every Jeep on the pattern; a "universal" 5x127 wheel bored to 78 mm to also fit older GM trucks is lug-centric on a Jeep unless a 78-to-71.5 ring is fitted.
Every ANKUSI wheel is machined to order, so the bore is cut to 71.5, 67.1, 65.1 or 77.8 mm for the Jeep you name and no ring is needed. Tell us the model year and tire size and we confirm the pattern, bore and offset before anything is machined.

Which Jeep wheels interchange?
Within a pattern and bore the wheels bolt on; whether they clear is a separate question of width, offset and brake size. The interchange groups are: JK, JL, JT Gladiator, WJ/WK/WK2/WL Grand Cherokee, XK Commander and Wagoneer S (5x127 / 71.5); YJ, TJ, XJ, KJ/KK Liberty and ZJ Grand Cherokee (5x114.3 / 71.5); Compass MK and Patriot (5x114.3 / 67.1, ring needed for the 71.5 group's wheels); Renegade, Cherokee KL and Compass MP (5x110 / 65.1); Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer WS (6x139.7 / 77.8). A matte black split-spoke beadlock ordered for a JL therefore also fits a Gladiator or a WK2 Grand Cherokee as far as the hub is concerned; only the offset needs re-checking.
Frequently asked questions
What is the bolt pattern on a Jeep Wrangler?
5x127 (5x5") with a 71.5 mm centre bore on the JK (2007–2018) and JL (2018 onward). The earlier YJ (1987–1995) and TJ (1997–2006) use 5x114.3 (5x4.5"), also with a 71.5 mm bore.
What is the bolt pattern on a Jeep Grand Cherokee?
5x127 with a 71.5 mm bore on every generation from the 1999 WJ through the current WL. Only the first-generation ZJ (1993–1998) used 5x114.3.
Do Jeep Wrangler wheels fit a Grand Cherokee?
From 2007 onward, yes: both are 5x127 with a 71.5 mm bore. Check offset and width before fitting, because Wrangler off-road wheels sit further outboard than the Grand Cherokee's factory wheels.
What bolt pattern is the Jeep Renegade and Compass?
The Renegade and the 2017-on Compass MP are 5x110 with a 65.1 mm bore. The 2007–2017 Compass MK is different: 5x114.3 with a 67.1 mm bore.
What bolt pattern is the 2022+ Jeep Wagoneer?
6x139.7 (6x5.5") with a 77.8 mm bore, the same as the Ram 1500 it shares its platform with. The electric Wagoneer S is 5x127 / 71.5 mm instead.
