2008 Saturn Astra Wheels & Rims: Bolt Pattern, Offset & Sizes
Fitting Saturn Astra wheels? This page gives the 2008 Saturn Astra bolt pattern (5x110), centre bore, factory rim size and the offset range for aftermarket and forged Saturn Astra rims: the same spec sheet ANKUSI uses when machining forged wheels for this car.
Quick answer: The 2008 Saturn Astra uses a 5x110 bolt pattern with a 65.1 mm centre bore and M12x1.5 lug nuts. Factory wheels: 16x6.5J ET37, front and rear. For aftermarket wheels, 16x7.0J ET40 sits flush and 17x7.5J ET35 is the most aggressive fit.

How to Read Wheel Offset & Measurements
Use these two references before ordering: the left diagram shows where each spec (PCD, center bore, offset, width and diameter) is measured on the wheel; the right diagram shows how positive, zero and negative offset shift the wheel face relative to the hub centerline.

ANKUSI Engineering Expert Advice
On a compact performance platform, every pound of rotational mass fights the car's natural agility. A forged wheel keeps strength at the factory-rated level while cutting that rotational weight, which is where the driving-feel improvement actually comes from.
The Saturn Astra runs a 5x110 bolt pattern, 65.1mm center bore, and a 16x6.5J, front and rear, wheel from the factory. Our Flush Fitment reference is 16x7.0J ET40, which tucks the tire under the fender lip on a stock-height Saturn Astra. Our Maximum Aggressive reference is 17x7.5J ET35 — beyond that offset, expect rubbing against the inner fender liner under compression without further trimming.
Saturn Astra OE Wheel Specs
The 2008 Saturn Astra (Hatchback) uses a 5x110 bolt pattern with a 65.1mm center bore. Factory wheels are 16x6.5J F/R.
Why the factory spec works for most owners:
- Balances ride comfort with everyday fuel efficiency
- A widely used size in this segment, so tire and wheel availability stays strong
- Keeps unsprung weight low for stable, predictable handling
- Maintains clearance for the factory brake calipers and suspension components
ANKUSI builds these wheels — we are the forging factory, not a reseller. For the Saturn Astra (2008) we drill the 5x110 pattern and cut the centre bore to 65.1mm on our own CNC line, so the wheel hub-centres on the car with no spacer rings, in whatever diameter, width and offset you specify.

A Note on Clearance
Final clearance depends on the exact tire model, suspension height, brake package, alignment and vehicle tolerances. A physical test fit is recommended before production.

Contact ANKUSI with your bolt pattern and offset target and we will confirm the correct forged wheel spec for your build.
Offset and Backspacing: Factory Wheel vs Options
Backspacing ≈ width/2 + ET/25.4 + 0.5 in. "Inward" means closer to the suspension; "outward" means closer to the fender lip.
| Setup | Size | ET | Backspacing | Inward vs OE | Outward vs OE |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Factory (OE) | 16x6.5J | ET37 | 5.21 in (132 mm) | — | — |
| Flush | 16x7J | ET40 | 5.57 in (142 mm) | +9 mm | +3 mm |
| Maximum | 17x7.5J | ET35 | 5.63 in (143 mm) | +11 mm | +15 mm |
Vehicles With the Same Hub as the Saturn Astra (5x110, 65.1 mm Bore)
In our database, 139 other vehicle entries from 19 makes use exactly the same 5x110 bolt pattern and 65.1 mm center bore. Factory wheels from these cars bolt on and center on the hub without rings; offset and width still have to be checked.
5x110 is used by 2.2% of the vehicle pages in our English fitment guide (145 of 6,503); 96.6% of those also use a 65.1 mm center bore.
Hub-Centric Rings for a 65.1 mm Center Bore
A wheel with a center bore larger than 65.1 mm needs a hub-centric ring. The most common combinations:
| Wheel bore | Ring size |
|---|---|
| 66.1 mm | 66.1 → 65.1 mm |
| 66.6 mm | 66.6 → 65.1 mm |
| 67.1 mm | 67.1 → 65.1 mm |
| 70.1 mm | 70.1 → 65.1 mm |
| 73.1 mm | 73.1 → 65.1 mm |
ANKUSI forged wheels are bored to exactly 65.1 mm for this vehicle, so no ring is needed.
