ANKUSI Engineering Expert Advice

Coupes and performance platforms are where rotational mass shows up fastest — in acceleration, in braking, and in how quickly the chassis changes direction. Forging lets us build to the same strength spec as the factory wheel at a meaningfully lower rotational weight, which is where the performance gain actually comes from, not just the visual one.

The BRZ tS runs a 5x100 bolt pattern, 56.1mm center bore, and a 18x7.5J at ET48, front and rear, wheel from the factory. Our Flush Fitment reference is 18x8.5J at ET35, which tucks the tire under the fender lip on a stock-height BRZ tS. Our Maximum Aggressive reference is 18x9.0J at ET30 — beyond that offset, expect rubbing against the inner fender liner under compression without further trimming.

Subaru BRZ tS OE Wheel Specs

The 2024 Subaru BRZ tS (Sports Coupe) uses a 5x100 bolt pattern with a 56.1mm center bore. Factory wheels are 18x7.5J at ET48 offset (front and rear).

Why the factory spec works for most owners:

  • Keeps unsprung weight low to preserve the factory handling balance
  • Matches the wider, performance-oriented tire sizing typical of this platform
  • Maintains clearance for the factory brake package and suspension geometry
  • Balances grip with ride comfort for daily and spirited driving

ANKUSI builds these wheels — we are the forging factory, not a reseller. For the BRZ tS (2024) we drill the 5x100 pattern and cut the centre bore to 56.1mm on our own CNC line, so the wheel hub-centres on the car with no spacer rings, in whatever diameter, width and offset you specify.

Flush Fitment

For a flush look with minimal rubbing, 18x8.5J at ET35 offset (front and rear) is the recommended starting point on a stock or mildly lowered Subaru BRZ tS.

Maximum Aggressive Fitment

18x9.0J at ET30 offset (front and rear) is a more aggressive reference setup. Beyond this, expect rubbing under compression without fender rolling or camber correction.

Offset & Backspacing Reference

Backspacing is calculated as wheel width (in) ÷ 2 + offset (mm) ÷ 25.4 + 0.5 (flange allowance):

  • OE: 18x7.5J ET48 → ~6.14″ backspacing
  • Flush: 18x8.5J ET35 → ~6.13″ backspacing
  • Max: 18x9.0J ET30 → ~6.18″ backspacing

Custom Forged Wheels for the BRZ tS (2024)

Everything above is reference data. If you want wheels actually built to it, that is what ANKUSI does: we are a forged wheel factory in Guangzhou, China, IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 certified, forging on our own 10,000-ton press and producing over 120,000 wheels a year. Forging blank, CNC machining, finishing, coating and inspection all happen in the same building — nothing is subcontracted and nothing is relabelled from another manufacturer.

Every set is cut to order, so the 5x100 pattern and the 56.1mm centre bore are machined for this car specifically rather than shimmed with adaptor rings. Diameter, width, offset, concavity, monoblock or multi-piece construction and the finish are all yours to choose — most Subaru orders on this platform land somewhere between the 18x8.5J ET35 flush setup and the 18x9.0J ET30 aggressive setup referenced above.

Designs we already tool for the 5x100 pattern — each one is re-cut to your sizes and offsets:

Frequently Asked Questions

What bolt pattern (PCD) does the BRZ tS use?
The 2024 BRZ tS uses a 5x100 bolt pattern.
How many lug bolts does the BRZ tS use?
The BRZ tS uses a 5-lug bolt pattern (5x100), so you need a 5-lug forged wheel to bolt straight on.
What is the center bore size on the BRZ tS?
The BRZ tS's center bore is 56.1mm. If an aftermarket wheel has a larger center bore than this, hub-centric rings are recommended so the wheel centers on the hub itself rather than relying on the lug bolts alone.
What size are the factory (stock) wheels on the BRZ tS?
Factory wheels on the BRZ tS are 18x7.5J at ET48 offset (front and rear).
What is the biggest wheel size I can fit on my BRZ tS without rubbing?
The most aggressive fitment we recommend without fender work is 18x9.0J at ET30 offset. Going beyond this typically causes rubbing under compression unless you roll the fenders or add camber correction.
What does a flush wheel fitment look like on the BRZ tS?
For a flush look with minimal to no rubbing, we recommend 18x8.5J at ET35 offset as a starting point on a stock or mildly lowered BRZ tS.
Do I need wheel spacers for my BRZ tS?
No. ANKUSI forges each wheel to your exact target offset, including the flush or max specs above, so you get the correct fitment without stacking spacers. Spacers are typically only used to push out an existing OE-offset wheel without replacing it, which isn't necessary when you're ordering a custom-offset forged wheel.
How do I calculate wheel backspacing for my BRZ tS?
Backspacing (in inches) = wheel width (in) ÷ 2 + offset (mm) ÷ 25.4 + 0.5 (flange allowance). For example, the flush spec above works out to roughly 6.13" of backspacing.
What's the difference between wheel offset and backspacing?
Offset is the distance in millimeters from the wheel's true centerline to its mounting face (positive offset pulls the wheel in, negative pushes it out). Backspacing is the distance in inches from the mounting face to the back edge of the wheel barrel. They describe the same fitment from two different reference points, which is why ANKUSI lists both above — some shops and tuning guides quote offset, others quote backspacing.
Can I run staggered wheels (different sizes front and rear) on my BRZ tS?
The BRZ tS runs the same wheel size front and rear from the factory, so staggered fitment is not required. ANKUSI can still forge a staggered set (wider rear) on request if you want a more aggressive stance.

Vehicles With the Same Hub as the BRZ tS (5x100, 56.1 mm Bore)

In our database, 19 other vehicle entries from 6 makes use exactly the same 5x100 bolt pattern and 56.1 mm center bore. Factory wheels from these cars bolt on and center on the hub without rings; offset and width still have to be checked.

5x100 is used by 1.9% of the vehicle pages in our English fitment guide (124 of 6,503); 16.1% of those also use a 56.1 mm center bore.

Offset and Backspacing: Factory Wheel vs Options

Backspacing ≈ width/2 + ET/25.4 + 0.5 in. "Inward" means closer to the suspension; "outward" means closer to the fender lip.

Hub-Centric Rings for a 56.1 mm Center Bore

A wheel with a center bore larger than 56.1 mm needs a hub-centric ring. The most common combinations:

Wheel boreRing size
57.1 mm57.1 → 56.1 mm
60.1 mm60.1 → 56.1 mm
63.4 mm63.4 → 56.1 mm
64.1 mm64.1 → 56.1 mm
73.1 mm73.1 → 56.1 mm

ANKUSI forged wheels are bored to exactly 56.1 mm for this vehicle, so no ring is needed.
