Smart Bolt Pattern & Center Bore Notes

Based on the 19 Smart fitment guides we cover, we have documented 3 distinct bolt pattern / center bore combinations across different Smart platforms and model years:

  • 4x100 bolt pattern, 60.1mm center bore — 9 models we cover, spanning 2015–2020.
  • 3x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm center bore — 6 models we cover, spanning 2003–2012.
  • 5x108 bolt pattern, 63.4mm center bore — 4 models we cover, spanning 2023–2026.

Do not mix platforms: a wheel forged for one Smart bolt pattern / center bore combination will not hub-center correctly on a different one, even if the diameter looks right. Always confirm your exact model and year against the bolt pattern and center bore listed on that model page below before ordering — or send us your VIN or trim level and we will confirm it for you.

Offset and backspacing recommendations vary by trim even within the same bolt pattern, mainly due to differences in brake caliper size and suspension geometry between base and performance trims. Every ANKUSI wheel is forged to your exact target offset, so send us your Smart model, year, and trim and we will confirm the correct spec before production — no guessing required.

How to check the bolt pattern on your Smart

The most common Smart fitment in our guide is 4x100 with a 60.1 mm center bore (9 of 19 model years we cover).

  1. Read the stamping on the back of an original wheel: size, offset (ET) and bolt pattern are usually cast into a spoke or the hub pad.
  2. No stamping? Measure center-to-center between two adjacent lug holes. For 4x100 that distance is 70.7 mm (PCD × sin(180° / 4)). A 2 mm difference already means a different bolt pattern.
  3. Match generation and year on the model pages below — the same nameplate can change bolt pattern or center bore between generations.

Changing width or offset? Check how far the wheel moves in or out with our offset & backspacing calculator.

Vehicles Using 4x100 With a 60.1 mm Center Bore

In our database, 141 other vehicle entries from 9 makes use exactly the same 4x100 bolt pattern and 60.1 mm center bore. Factory wheels from these cars bolt on and center on the hub without rings; offset and width still have to be checked.

4x100 is used by 6.9% of the vehicle pages in our English fitment guide (451 of 6,503); 33.3% of those also use a 60.1 mm center bore.

Hub-Centric Rings for a 60.1 mm Center Bore

A wheel with a center bore larger than 60.1 mm needs a hub-centric ring. The most common combinations:

Wheel boreRing size
63.4 mm63.4 → 60.1 mm
64.1 mm64.1 → 60.1 mm
65.1 mm65.1 → 60.1 mm
66.1 mm66.1 → 60.1 mm
73.1 mm73.1 → 60.1 mm

ANKUSI forged wheels are bored to exactly 60.1 mm for this vehicle, so no ring is needed.
