Use these two references before ordering: the left diagram shows where each spec (PCD, center bore, offset, width and diameter) is measured on the wheel; the right diagram shows how positive, zero and negative offset shift the wheel face relative to the hub centerline.

The GTI's whole reputation rests on how it turns in, so unsprung mass reductions from a forged wheel translate directly into the steering feel this car is known for — more so than on a comparable non-performance hatch. Volkswagen's factory offset is already fairly conservative, which gives us clean, well-tested room to move to our Flush reference without touching the strut geometry.
The Golf GTI uses a 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm center bore, and an 18x7.5J ET51 wheel from the factory, front and rear. Our Flush Fitment reference is an 18x8.5J at ET45, which fills the fender opening on a stock or mildly lowered GTI. Our Maximum Aggressive reference is a 19x8.5J at ET40 — past that, expect rubbing under compression without fender rolling or camber correction.
The 2025 Volkswagen Golf GTI (Hot Hatch) uses a 5x112 bolt pattern with a 57.1mm center bore. Factory wheels are 18x7.5J at ET51 offset, front and rear.
Why the factory spec works for most owners:
ANKUSI builds these wheels — we are the forging factory, not a reseller. For the Volkswagen Golf GTI (2025) we drill the 5x112 pattern and cut the centre bore to 57.1mm on our own CNC line, so the wheel hub-centres on the car with no spacer rings, in whatever diameter, width and offset you specify.

The figures on this page are part of our open wheel fitment dataset — 10,093 vehicles, free to download, CC BY 4.0.
Backspacing ≈ width/2 + ET/25.4 + 0.5 in. "Inward" means closer to the suspension; "outward" means closer to the fender lip.
| Setup | Size | ET | Backspacing | Inward vs OE | Outward vs OE |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Factory (OE) | 18x7.5J | ET51 | 6.26 in (159 mm) | — | — |
| Flush | 18x8.5J | ET45 | 6.52 in (166 mm) | +7 mm | +19 mm |
| Maximum | 19x8.5J | ET40 | 6.32 in (161 mm) | +2 mm | +24 mm |
In our database, 407 other vehicle entries from 18 makes use exactly the same 5x112 bolt pattern and 57.1 mm center bore. Factory wheels from these cars bolt on and center on the hub without rings; offset and width still have to be checked.
5x112 is used by 21.6% of the vehicle pages in our English fitment guide (1,407 of 6,503); 29.0% of those also use a 57.1 mm center bore.
A wheel with a center bore larger than 57.1 mm needs a hub-centric ring. The most common combinations:
| Wheel bore | Ring size |
|---|---|
| 60.1 mm | 60.1 → 57.1 mm |
| 63.4 mm | 63.4 → 57.1 mm |
| 64.1 mm | 64.1 → 57.1 mm |
| 65.1 mm | 65.1 → 57.1 mm |
| 73.1 mm | 73.1 → 57.1 mm |
ANKUSI forged wheels are bored to exactly 57.1 mm for this vehicle, so no ring is needed.
