A Civic Type R came in for a street-focused build — the owner wanted a flush, planted look for daily driving and weekend meets, not a full track setup. We ran a lightweight multi-spoke design in the spirit of the Rohana/KMC street aesthetic: clean face, minimal negative space, finished in black with a machined face — a cleaner, more OEM-plus look than the bronze or bright colors this style of car often gets.

Common Question: How Aggressive Is Too Aggressive on a FWD Hot Hatch?

Front-wheel-drive performance cars have less room for negative offset than you’d think, because pushing the front wheels out increases scrub radius and can introduce torque steer that wasn’t there from the factory — a real handling change, not just a cosmetic one. We kept this build at ET35 front, only 8mm more aggressive than stock, which was enough to fill the arch without altering how the car actually drives.

This is close to the ceiling of what we’d recommend for a FWD platform that still needs to drive normally day to day. Push much further negative and you start trading away the handling characteristics that make a Type R worth owning in the first place.
